It is one of the hardest things to admit, especially for young career driven people – sitting on a desk from 9 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon is dead boring. Not many are aware of this but that simple desk job can bring about a lot of stress and sickness. If you’re one who cherishes your spot in the corporate world and would want to do good and keep climbing up that ladder of success, there are a few things you need to take note of and it may surprise you as they have nothing to do with your personality or work skills.
Keeping Your Well Being is a Priority
In any form of activity or endeavor, may it be recreational or occupational, you need to keep yourself healthy and well to be able to keep up with the demands of whatever it is that you are doing. Take for instance your 9 to 5 day desk job. You think you are not harming your body by just sitting all day but it can do your mind and body harm, especially if you are facing a computer the whole time.
Sitting for long periods of time can stress your body and your mind. The cells inside your body is made up of billions, even trillions of energy charges. These charges are in need of constant movement more like a battery that needs to be charged with electricity to run. BY keeping yourself still, sitting in front of the computer, you are depriving your energy charges of the necessary push to move your bodily functions and even your mind properly. The bottom line is, staying behind a desk job isn’t far from being a couch potato.
Keeping Your Self Healthy and Productive
Ever notice why your mind sometimes isn’t up to the most simple tasks during your working hours? This is because your body tends to have all this energy charges wasted. You produce less, and you wonder why you are not moving up the ladder. Take charge of your health in the simplest of ways and you’ll feel more energized, your mind focused to do your work with enjoyment.
Aside from the skillset needed for your particular job position and your attitude towards work, you need your cells energized to be able to put your skills and personality to action. Here are quick and easy steps to change your body’s “mindset”. These are so easy you wouldn’t even have to get yourself up from your chair.
• Have yourself a water container within reach so you can rehydrate yourself. You might think that doing nothing doesn’t mean you don’t need water. This will keep you energized but not to the point where you always need to take a leak. It will be better to make yourself some lemon water as the alkaline content will boost up your energy.
• It is very important to empty your bladder every once in awhile as this will prevent you from having any urinary tract infections.
• Have some candy or crackers in your pocket. This way, you’re blood sugar levels will not erratically increase or decrease.
• Know how to de-stress yourself by learning basic stretching.
• Have an upright posture. It may be straining when you do it the first couple of times but you will feel a lot stronger and have more endurance to sit on your chair later on.
