Life isn’t fair. Not everyone is born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Equal opportunity is the idealistic goal the world is trying to achieve from the start. But does that mean people don’t try to achieve their goals, however impossible the dreams may be?
Opportunities do come knocking on our doors; we just have to be very receptive to the sound. But you can’t simply wait for success to come around on its own. Success is never handed out, you need to make it happen, through your actions and preparations, by making use of everything you already have and creating what you don’t. Life is not supposed to be just received, but made into something bigger. If life doesn’t give you enough, get yourself together and create your own options.
‘A wise man will make more opportunities than he finds.’
You have to choose your actions, which will help you grab the opportunity. It could be anything from self-improvement to networking, but you still need to take that action to attain the opportunity. The door to the opportunity is persistence and determination. Don’t abandon your dreams only because you did not get the right opportunity, the truth is all these are excuses you will be telling yourself, only because you did not take your chances.
Some people are provided with every facility in the world, but can they achieve everything by simply sitting in their comfortable couch? No! Opportunity needs capability, action to turn dreams into reality.
Life doesn’t always work out the way you plan it. You can’t always have a plan. You must be able to go on regardless of whether you have a plan or not. You can think about what you want all your life, but you will never achieve until you take a step towards it. You may fail, but you need to have the strength to restart your journey, till you reach the other end of your dream.
Come out of your comfort zone. Make efforts. Take risks. Be smart. Create your own platform. The world is in a rat race. No one is going to stop to help you out. Some do help, as long as their own dreams are not being compromised. Don’t challenge another person, but challenge yourself. You are your only competition. Believe in yourself. Make mistakes. Have courage to move forward. Get inspired, and you’ll build a lot of doors. If you get a chance, build some for others as well.
Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you, go and create them for yourself.
There is a lot of wisdom in this post. For some people it’s harder than others depending on what side of the track you’re on. I remember watching Tiger Woods and for the first time in my life I became interested in golf. Before him I didn’t know what golf was. He was my opportunity to learn something new, I guess I can thank him for that.
