Kickoff of my No Spend Month

no spend month kickoffHappy New Year, friends! I hope you have a wonderful holiday! Are you ready to rock those $$$ goals this year?!

With the New Year comes a fresh start and new goals. Why not start it off right!?

Today marks the Kick Off of my No-Spend Month

Back in December, I posted a checklist on how to prepare for a No Spend Month. If you missed it, it’s never too late to get started! Click on over and read it, do your prep (which is pretty minimal) and join me in this money-saving challenge!!!

I’m here for you every step of the way! Throughout the month, I’ll provide some helpful tips and tricks to help you survive the month. And I’ll keep you up to date on how things are going on my end.

I can almost guarantee it won’t be a cakewalk for any of us, but it’s only a month! I know we can do this.

I’d love it if you’d follow along and let me know how you are doing. Share the challenges you face and how you are getting creative to get through the month.

So, are you in? Let me know in the comments

P.S. This Thursday’s post should help you – and it will include my first update. I also want to gently remind you of something. If you get off track and spend money on one day during the month, you can start fresh the next day and continue! Don’t let just one day (or more) stop you! Just forgive, forget and move forward!

  1. I’m not doing a no-spend month, but I am looking hard at everything I do spend 🙂 We’re starting today by making some sort of concoction out of baking soda and peroxide to save my bakeware instead of tossing it! I am excited to follow along on your journey and get inspiration and motivation from you 🙂

    1. Thanks, Penny! It will be an interesting month! I would love to know how that bakeware turns outs after cleaning it. I use baking soda and peroxide for cleaning a lot (I make all my own cleaners…simply because they seem to work better!).

  2. A no spend month is ambitious, but fortune favors the bold, so good luck! I won’t be participating myself, but I’ll be following along to see how it goes.

(After the holidays, I could use a no-eat month to get back into shape as well!)

    1. Thanks, Jon! It’s already challenged me once. My daughter informed me at 1:00 am (you know one hour into my no spend month) that she needs a bifold presentation board for school. I thought I was going to have to buy one – but I got creative and found a no-spend solution!

I hear you on the no-eat month! I plan to cut back on the unhealthy eating as well.

  3. I don’t think I can do a no spend month, but what I do instead is look at where my money is going. Taking a look at better deals for mobile phone, internet, car insurance etc. You get the idea…. if it’s a dollar saved, it’s a dollar earned in my books, This way I can save more money and that means investing more money. All the best.

    1. Looking for ways to lower those bills is a great way to save! And it can really add up over time, particularly if you invest it. Thanks for the comment! Happy New Year! 🙂

  4. I can proudly say I made it through Day 1, lol. Ready to rock this, Amanda. Looking forward to your updates. 🙂

    1. Yay! I made it through day 1 fairly easily (one minor challenge). Can’t wait to hear how you’re doing along the way, MMM! 🙂

  5. This is awesome to hear that you have started it and have already gotten creative. My wife is insistent that she needs a haircut and went out today. So unfortunately we won’t be participating but I look forward to reading your journey!!

    1. Thanks for following along, MSM! So far, I like the creativity, but I may be singing a different song at the end of the month! 🙂
