All dividends ,cap gains, taxable and tax-exempt interest in our portfolios are reinvested.Social security, my small retirement, RMD from his IRA, and tax-exempt interest from a muni portfolio provide our spendable income. We have no debt.Basically: income=expenses. If there is a surplus, we save it for a nice trip or DH gets itchy and trades in a car for a "new" used one of some kind he hasn’t owned before.
